General Mills Chairman and CEO Jeff Harmening shares the journey General Mills is on to continue its tradition of serving the world by making food people love. Signup deadline February 23.

From flour to submarines, from toys to restaurants, for General Mills it has been more than 150 years of making food people love and treating the world with care. General Mills traces its origins to the banks of the Mississippi River and now is a global food leader with products enjoyed in more than 100 countries on six continents including well-known brands such as Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Haagen-Dazs, Annie's and Cascadian Farm, to name a few.

Chairman and CEO Jeff Harmening will share how he is leading General Mills as the global company embarks on its next 150 year journey. With changing consumer eating habits and an increasingly global business, Harmening will explain how the company has reshaped its portfolio and is now the second largest manufacturer of organic food, all the while providing consumers broad choice through innovation and a consumer-first company mind-set.

Harmening, who joined General Mills in 1994 and has held leadership positions for the company in the United States and Europe, was named CEO last June. Harmening previously served as president and chief operating officer for General Mills, where he shaped strategies for the company’s four global operating segments and had oversight of Global Supply Chain, and Innovation, Technology and Quality.

In the U.S., Harmening served in various marketing roles before being named vice president of marketing for Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW) in 2003. Headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, CPW is a 50-50 joint venture between General Mills and Nestle that manufactures and markets ready-to-eat cereal products in more than 130 countries outside of North America.

Harmening holds a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and an MBA from Harvard. He is a Trustee of DePauw University and is on the Board of Directors at Partners in Food Solutions. He and his wife live in the Twin Cities with their two children.
