Conversation with U.S. Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr.

Please join the Columbia Club of Minnesota in association with the Yale Club in welcoming U.S. Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr. for a discussion about his tenure as the 46th Solicitor General of the United States.

As Solicitor General, Verrilli has argued for the United States in National Federation of Independent Businesses v. SebeliusArizona v. United StatesUnited States v. Windsor, and numerous other cases.  Prior to succeeding Justice Kagan as Solicitor General, Verrilli served as Deputy Counsel to President Obama and as an Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice. Before his government service, he was a partner for many years at Jenner & Block, and co-chaired the firm’s Supreme Court practice. 

The Solicitor General will be joined by UMN Law Professor Mark Kappelhoff who is currently serving as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division.
