Minnesota: Columbia Community Outreach (CCO)

For the eighth year in a row, the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA) is partnering with Columbia Community Outreach (CCO) to connect a global network of alumni, students, faculty, and staff for a day of service to our local communities. This year the Columbia University Club of Minnesota is sponsoring a volunteer event at Second Harvest Heartland. Our group will be doing a general food sorting and packing shift at the new Golden Valley service center. Second Harvest Heartland is the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger relief organization, which aims not only to help our hungry neighbors today, but to provide the means for everyone to be fed tomorrow. In 2010 alone, the organization collected and distributed over 60 million pounds of food.
